A Glorious Debut for the London and Thames Valley Boat Show at Shepperton Marina

The London and Thames Valley Boat Show, held at Shepperton Marina for the first time in June, was nothing short of a resounding success. Blessed with glorious sunshine, the event brought together a diverse array of exhibitors and visitors, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere that celebrated all things nautical.

The marina was abuzz with activity as boat sales companies from across the Thames showcased their latest brands, offering attendees a glimpse of the newest products available in boating. The variety of exhibitors was impressive, ranging from insurance companies and boat bed suppliers to decking specialists and boat cleaning services. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) also had a strong presence, with a stand selling memorabilia to support their vital work.

New boat brands were on display along the quayside with a variety of models available for on board viewings and enquiries. There was something to suit everyone!

A highlight of the weekend was the life jacket clinic hosted by Lindon Lewis Marine. Over 50 life jackets were serviced on Saturday, revealing some surprising results. One life jacket, which appeared brand new, was found to be over 25 years old and was among the 54% that were condemned. This clinic underscored the importance of regular safety checks and maintenance, ensuring that all boaters remain safe on the water.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, an on-site bar and eatery provided a relaxed setting for exhibitors and visitors to unwind and enjoy the event. The weekend culminated in a lively evening of live music on Saturday, which was enjoyed by all and added a perfect finishing touch to the show.

This traveling boat show has previously graced other marinas, and it will be exciting to see where it heads next. We look forward to it returning back to Shepperton Marina in the future!
