Read how we keep your Marina environmentally friendly
Keeping your Marina green
At our Marina, we believe that enjoying the water comes with a deep responsibility to protect it. Our commitment to sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring a healthy environment for marine life and a beautiful space for our community.
Read on to discover the comprehensive measures we take to keep our facilities environmentally friendly. We also provide our valued moorers with resources and guidance to help you embrace sustainability in your own boating practices, making us partners in preserving our precious marine ecosystem for generations to come.
Environmental policy
We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices across all aspects of
our operations. This policy outlines our approach to environmental stewardship, resource conservation, pollution
prevention, and continuous improvement.
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, visitors, and stakeholders involved in our operations, facilities, and
services.

How are we being sustainable
Solar Panels
We’ve installed solar panels on the marina building roof to reduce our environmental impact and promote sustainability. By generating clean, renewable energy, we’re lowering our carbon footprint and helping to protect the natural surroundings we all enjoy.
Sea Bin
We’ve installed a Sea Bin in the marina basin to help keep our waters clean and protect marine life. The Sea Bin collects floating waste, plastics, and debris, helping us reduce pollution and support a healthier, more sustainable marine environment.
LED Lights
We’ve upgraded the marina lighting to energy-efficient LED fixtures to reduce our environmental impact. The new lights use less energy, last longer, and help lower our carbon emissions while keeping the marina bright and welcoming.
EV Charging
We’ve installed EV car chargers at the marina to support cleaner, more sustainable transportation. This is part of our ongoing commitment to reducing emissions, with plans to introduce additional charging points in the future as demand grows.
Interceptor
We’ve introduced a new interceptor system at the crane bay to capture wash-off from pressure washing boat hulls before it reaches the marina basin. The system recycles all of the water used, reducing our overall water consumption and ensuring there is no discharge into the marina, helping to protect water quality and marine life.

The Boating Pledge
We are promoting the Green Blue's boating community pledge for more sustainable boating.
As boaters, we’re the stewards of the waters we navigate, and the places that we love. Every choice we make has an impact and leaves a mark on our environment.
Make the Green Blue Boating Pledge and join a community committed to protecting our waters and nature for future generations to enjoy.
Non-Native Species Policy
Shepperton Marina is committed to protecting local biodiversity and maintaining the ecological integrity of the River
Thames and surrounding waterways. This policy outlines our approach to preventing the introduction and spread of
non-native invasive species through marina operations, customer activities, and site management.
This policy applies
to all marina users, including berth holders, visitors, contractors, and staff. It covers boat maintenance, launching,
mooring, and any activity that may contribute to the transfer of aquatic or terrestrial invasive species.
