We work closely with Bisham Abbey Sailing and Navigation School and Instructors from Bisham Abbey and occasionally run marine training courses exclusively for Shepperton Marina bertholders, at Shepperton Marina.

Inland Waterways Helmsman Course

The Inland Waterways Helmsman course (IWHC) is aimed at the novice or the boating enthusiast wishing to formalise and/or expand their knowledge. It is suitable for those with little or no experience of river crafts.

This course is a requirement for anyone who wants to use a marine VHF DSC radio, it is suitable for experienced boaters as well as novices. It covers basic marine band VHF operation and Global Maritime Distress & Safety System GMDS

Introduction to the tidal Thames course

A starter session for those considering going onto the tidal Thames, will cover basic elements of safety, tides, rules and passage planning. Includes loan of all course material for the day. Exclusive for Shepperton Marina.

First Aid Course

This First Aid course follows the RYA syllabus and is designed to provide a practical working knowledge of First Aid for all sailors and motor cruisers, particularly those taking small craft offshore up to 60 miles from a safe haven.
